Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness, ScotlandUrquhart Castle

If you want to see 'Nessie', the best place to go is the Urquhart Castle between Fort William and Inverness, close to the village of Drumnadrochit, situated on a headland overlooking Loch Ness in Scotland. This is an impressive castle, though in ruins, where the majority of Nessie sightings have occurred. Records show this castle was existence from the early 13th century after the area was granted to the Durward family in 1229. The castle was captured by Edward I of England in 1296. After that it went through a number of sieges but was largely destroyed in 1692 by Williamite troops who made sure the castle could not become a Jacobite stronghold. The castle, now owned by the National Trust for Scotland and run by Historic Scotland, is the third busiest site within the Guardianship of Scottish Ministers. Starting in 2000, Historic Scotland created a proper visitor center at the site and improved the parking. The visitor center now includes a display on the history of the site, a cinema, a restaurant and shop. The Castle is open all year but there is a visitor fee.

To make your online jigsaw puzzle click on Ghost to define your workspace. You can move the pieces by clicking on them and dragging them to where you want. To rotate them, mouse over them and either use your mouse roller or your arrow keys to turn them the way you want them. It is usually easiest to separate the straight edge or border pieces first and make the border of the puzzle. Then separate the rest of the pieces into like colors and go from there. To see the colors better, click on image. Have fun!
